From the O*NET and ESCO international occupation classifications — documented sources that describe each occupation's tasks, not a market guess. If your target occupation isn't in our classification, the tool says so explicitly and builds the gap from your own description alone, at lower confidence, without claiming a source it doesn't have.
What happens to my current role, target role, and experience text?
These details are sent off to build the gap map for that single request only, and never reach any employer or third party. The result is saved to your account, and you can request its deletion from the privacy page.
What if my current and target roles have almost the same job title?
The tool flags the overlap immediately and states it plainly in the summary at low confidence, instead of inventing a gap out of nothing — and it asks you to clarify what actually differs between your current role and the one you're aiming for despite the shared title.
Does a "shared skill" mean I already have it at the target role's level?
It means that skill has a basis in the experience you wrote — nothing more. The tool doesn't attribute a level of mastery you never mentioned, and anything not grounded in your own text is automatically dropped from that list.
Are the suggested steps tied to a specific timeline for making the move?
